2025 Year in Review: A Record-Breaking Year Closing Our 25th Anniversary Chapter

As we close 2025, we take pride in a record year of market recognition during YKVN’s 25th anniversary year – across firmwide awards, practice rankings, deal highlights, and individual honors.
1. Six Vietnam Law Firm of the Year Honors
In 2025, YKVN earned six “Vietnam Law Firm of the Year” titles across leading legal publications and directories:
In addition, YKVN maintained Tier 1 recognition in leading global directories, including being Vietnam’s only firm listed in the GAR 100 for the third consecutive year.
2. Awarded for Landmark Deals
YKVN was particularly honored for two impact deals.
- Long Thanh International Airport US$1.8 billion financing (“Impact Deal”, Asialaw).
- Novaland Restructuring (“Deal of the Year (Restructuring)”, IFLR).
YKVN was recognized for its role in transactions noted for their scale, impact, and complexity at the 17th Vietnam M&A Forum (December 2025). Deals recognized included:
M&A transactions
- SHB – VND 3,600 billion divestment of its remaining 50% equity interest in SHBFinance to Ayudhya Bank (Krungsri), a member of the MUFG Group.
- SABECO – acquisition of nearly 38 million shares in Sabibeco through a tender offer.
- United Overseas Australia Ltd (UOA) – acquisition of a 2,000 sq.m. commercial land parcel in central Ho Chi Minh City (total investment capital: US$120 million).
- Golden Gate Group – acquisition of 100% equity interest in The Coffee House, one of the year’s notable F&B transactions.
Capital markets transactions
- Techcom Securities (TCBS) – IPO and listing on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE) under ticker TCX.
- HDBank – issuance of a US$100 million international green bond tranche to IFC and other international financial institutions.
3. Excellence in People
Our partners received notable individual recognition, including:
- Truong Nhat Quang — named Banking and Finance Lawyer of the Year by ALM’s Asia Legal Awards 2025 for his track record in complex banking transactions.
- Duong Thu Ha — awarded Vietnam Woman Lawyer of the Year 2025 by Asialaw, recognizing her outstanding professional achievements.
