Ten years of VMoot: Partner Nguyen Hong Ha sits on the Arbitral Tribunal at the 2026 Grand Final

October 16, 2026

Partner Nguyen Hong Ha represented YKVN on the Arbitral Tribunal at the Grand Final of VMoot 2026, the national Vietnamese-language moot court competition. The final took place on 5 October at Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, alongside a ceremony marking the competition’s tenth season. Ha sat with Chau Viet Bac, Deputy Secretary General of the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) and Deputy Director in charge of its Ho Chi Minh City branch, and Nguyen Thi Thanh Tram, Director and Partner at TWLV.

Organised by Ho Chi Minh City University of Law since 2017, VMoot gives law students a platform to develop their advocacy, legal analysis and problem-solving skills. Teams act as counsel for the claimant or respondent, prepare written submissions and argue their case before a mock arbitral tribunal. This year’s edition drew more than 80 teams from 40 universities and law schools across Vietnam.

The Mis 227 (Hanoi Law University) won First Prize, with D.N.D (Can Tho University) taking Second Prize. The Best Memorial award went to DATONE (Ho Chi Minh City University of Law), and Tran My Dung of D.N.D was named Best Oralist.

“The level of advocacy this year was impressive. The finalists handled the evidence and the tribunal’s questions like practitioners. It’s a real pleasure for YKVN to support VMoot and to see how far it has come over ten seasons,” said Nguyen Hong Ha.

As a long-standing partner of VMoot, YKVN contributes to the moot problems and provides judges. Managing Partner Truong Nhat Quang has chaired the final-round tribunal in past editions, and YKVN offers internships to members of the winning team.
