Project Finance
Vu Dieu Huyen focuses on banking and project finance. Huyen regularly advises State-owned banks, joint stock commercial banks and foreign banks on financing and security transactions in Vietnam.
Huyen’s clients include Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam, Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam, Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade, Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank, Indovina Bank, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and Citibank N.A., and other commercial banks, foreign bank branches and foreign banks.

Banking and Project Finance
- Advised Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation, a Philippine bank, on a term loan of up to US$211,500,000 for the purposes of partially financing the project for construction of BIM 2 and BIM 3 solar energy power plants with the capacity of 300MWp in Ninh Thuan Province, Vietnam;
- Advised Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation, a Philippine bank, on a term loan of up to US$20,700,000 for the purposes of partially financing the project for construction of a solar power plant with the capacity of 30MW in Ninh Thuan Province, Vietnam;
- Advised Export-Import Bank of Thailand on credit facilities of up to US$65,000,000 for the purposes of financing two Xuan Tho solar power plant projects with total installed capacity of 99.216MW (2 x 49.608MW) in Phu Yen Province, Vietnam;
- Advised PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk as sponsor in the financing of US$100 million for Cement Thang Long Cement Joint Stock Company as borrower;
- Advised a syndicate led by Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam on a US$230 million facility to finance the Extended Vinh Tan 4 Thermoelectric Project;
- Advised a syndicate group of the lenders led by Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank on a term loan of up to US$1.5 billion for the financing of Mong Duong 2 BOT Power Plant, a 1,200MW coal-fired power plant that is located in Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam;
- Advised a syndicate led by Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam on a US$690 million facility to finance Lai Chau Hydropower Project;
- Advised a syndicate led by Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam on a US$200 million facility to finance Huoi Quang Hydropower Plant Project;
- Advised a syndicate led by Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam on a US$150 million facility to finance the capital contribution by PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP) into a project of exploration and exploitation of petroleum;
- Advised a syndicate of banks led by Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development on a US$145 million facility to finance Ban Chat Hydropower Plant Project;
- Advised a syndicate led by Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam on a US$120 million facility to finance Cam Pha 2 Thermo-electric Plant Project;
- Advised a syndicate led by Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade on a US$110 million facility to finance 3G Project of EVNTelecom;

- Advised Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade on a US$157 million facility to finance the construction of the 500KV Pleiku – My Phuoc – Cau Bong Transmission Line developed by National Power Transmission Corporation;
- Advised Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam on a US$152 million facility to finance the construction of the 500KV Son La – Lai Chau Transmission Line developed by National Power Transmission Corporation;
- Advised Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam on a US$142 million facility to finance project for investment of Hanoi – Moscow Trade Centre in Russia;
- Advised Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade on a US$100 million facility to finance He Duong Cement Plant Project;
- Advised PPF banka a.s. on a EUR100 million facility to finance Phu Son Cement Plant Project;
- Advised Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam on a US$75 million facility to finance Ecopark Urban Area Project;
- Advised Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam on financing the purchases by Vietnam Airlines of 4 aircrafts – Airbus and Boeing in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016;
- Advised Indian Overseas Bank – Singapore Branch on a security transaction for the loan of Minda Vietnam Company Limited for financing project of investment and manufacture of components and spare parts for automobiles and motorbikes;
- Advised China Development Bank (CDB) in connection with the due diligence of the Hai Duong BOT Power Project for its intention of financing for this project, a 1,200MW coal-fired power plant that is located in Hai Duong Province developed by JASK Pacific Power Limited; and
- Advised China Development Bank (CDB) in connection with the due diligence of the Lower Sesan 2 Hydropower Project for its intention of financing for this project, a power plant that is located in Cambodia and developed by a joint venture between EVN International (Vietnam) and Royal Group (Cambodia).
Huyen also assisted a number of international banks, such as Citibank N.A., and Standard Chartered Bank on other banking and finance issues such as bank accounts, e-banking and SMS banking.
Corporate and M&A
- Advised PetroVietnam Insurance Corporation (PVI) as seller on the sale of a strategic stake to Oman Investment Fund;
- Advised PVI Holdings as the seller on the sale of a strategic stake to Talanx;
- Advised Vietnam Airlines on bidding the selection of international financial consultant for Vietnam Airlines’ equitization;
- Advised Vietnam Airlines on the conversion of VN/CX Catering Services into one member limited liability company;
- Advised Leader Group – a Malaysian group on purchasing shares in a Vietnamese Company operating in energy industry; and
- Advised Military Bank in the establishment of an insurance joint venture company.
