Leo Arman Galang is a Senior Associate, a Philippine-qualified lawyer, and a registered foreign attorney in Vietnam. He advises on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, and corporate restructurings in Vietnam.
In addition to the experience in Vietnam, Leo brings a distinctly regional perspective, having practiced in the Philippines, Myanmar, and Cambodia. He has experience advising multinational corporations, financial institutions, and private equity sponsors on market entry, strategic investments, and operational structuring in Southeast Asia. Leo’s experience spans a range of sectors, including energy, infrastructure, telecommunications, healthcare, and consumer and retail.

- Advising Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank) in the US$1.5 billion acquisition by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) of 15% stake in the charter capital of VPBank.
- Spearheading the Vietnam-related transaction of the acquisition by Fortune Brands Innovations Inc., a Fortune 500 company, of Assa Abloy Inc.’s, the world’s largest lock maker, iconic Yale and Emtek brands worth US$800 million as part of the response to a complex US Department of Justice investigation launched against the Assa Abloy group.
- Leading the preparation and execution of key transaction documents on behalf of Long Chau Investment JSC, one of Vietnam’s biggest pharmacy retail chains, in its first institutional capital raising with Malaysia based private equity firm Creador for an aggregate stake of up to 13%.
- Advising a Vietnamese real estate conglomerate in its high-profile, complex and first-of-its-kind-in-Vietnam debt and equity restructuring mechanisms involving multiple stakeholders from across several jurisdictions.
