YKVN <\/span>advised<\/span> Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam on the mandatory acquisition of Construction Bank, one of the first of its kind in Vietnam<\/span><\/h1>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”13804″ img_size=”full”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1729497248272{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]YKVN advised the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) on the mandatory acquisition of the 100% State-owned Construction Bank (CB).\u00a0 This acquisition, part of the government\u2019s plan to restructure underperforming banks currently under the special control of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), is one of the first of its kind in Vietnam.<\/p>\n

The mandatory acquisition was announced on October 17, 2024. Following the acquisition, Construction Bank (CB) will become a single-member limited liability commercial bank, with Vietcombank owning 100% of its charter capital.\u00a0 The successful completion of this acquisition is expected to gradually improve CB\u2019s financial condition while providing Vietcombank opportunities to expand its business scale, customer base, and operational network.<\/p>\n

According to Vietcombank\u2019s public announcement, this transaction \u201cdemonstrates the Government\u2019s and the SBV\u2019s trust in Vietcombank\u2019s reputation, capacity, and experience\u201d and \u201creinforces VCB’s role in implementing government and SBV policy, contributing to the stabilization of financial and monetary markets, while boosting investor and public confidence in the banking system.\u201d<\/p>\n
